{"id":3653,"date":"2022-12-01T14:03:51","date_gmt":"2022-12-01T14:03:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shaoke.com\/?post_type=glossary&#038;p=3653"},"modified":"2022-12-01T14:03:52","modified_gmt":"2022-12-01T14:03:52","slug":"chassis-fee","status":"publish","type":"glossary","link":"https:\/\/shaoke.com\/zh\/glossary\/chassis-fee\/","title":{"rendered":"Chassis Fee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A chassis is attached to a truck, and used to transport a container.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a chassis fee?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A chassis fee is assessed if your shipment is traveling by truck (e.g., after your cargo arrives at an ocean port, if it\u2019s being transported via truck to a warehouse).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For FCL shipments, this is a flat fee which varies by trucker.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For LCL shipments, the fee is calculated based on the volume of the cargo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a tri-axle chassis fee?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A tri-axle chassis fee is assessed if an FCL shipment traveling by truck is overweight. Generally a 20\u2019 container above 36,000 lbs and a 40\u2019 container above 44,000 lbs requires a tri-axle chassis. The trucker may charge for both a chassis fee and a tri-axle chassis fee if a tri-axle chassis is necessary.
