CTPAT certification confers several benefits for parties along the supply chain, including fewer Customs exams and access to the CTPAT portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is CTPAT?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CTPAT is the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/border-security\/ports-entry\/cargo-security\/ctpat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism<\/a>. It&#8217;s a security program of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, aimed at strengthening the security of international supply chains. Through CTPAT, CBP works with entities such as freight forwarders, importers, customs brokers, and manufacturers to implement certain security procedures and identify best practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is Flexport CTPAT certified?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes. Flexport received\u00a0CTPAT certification\u00a0in April 2016. All CTPAT participants can search the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ctpat.cbp.dhs.gov\/trade-web\/index\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CTPAT portal<\/a>\u00a0to check for certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"147\" src=\"https:\/\/shaoke.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/ctpat-0.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3642\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shaoke.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/ctpat-0.png 500w, https:\/\/shaoke.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/ctpat-0-300x88.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the benefits of CTPAT certification?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The primary benefits are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fewer&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flexport.com\/help\/30-customs-exams-impact\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Customs examinations<\/a>, due to closer cooperation with CBP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Front-of-line privileges, whenever possible, in the event of an exam&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ctpat.cbp.dhs.gov\/trade-web\/index\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CTPAT portal<\/a>, which allows monitoring of vendors and partners to ensure that they, too, are CTPAT certified<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assignment of a Supply Chain Security Specialist to the company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitates working with vendors in other countries with whom the U.S. has a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/mutual_recognition_3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mutual Recognition Arrangement<\/a>&nbsp;&#8212; essentially, other countries that have similar security programs in place (e.g., the European Union&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/tfig.unece.org\/contents\/authorized-economic-operators.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Authorized Economic Operator<\/a>, or AEO, program)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to the expedited&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/travel\/trusted-traveler-programs\/fast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Free and Secure Trade (FAST) lanes<\/a>&nbsp;at the U.S.-Mexico and U.S.-Canada borders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business resumption priority following a natural disaster or terrorist attack<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, CTPAT certification demonstrates that a company has certain security procedures in place, maintains a secure supply chain, and vets overseas partners\/vendors.
